On December 16, 2022, the third expert seminar of the openKylin community and the founding meeting of the Open Source Compliance SIG were successfully held online. At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Min, deputy secretary-general of the openKylin community, introduced the current progress of community work, including community platform development, brand promotion, ecological construction, and technological progress.
Then, Wang Yueliang, openKylin Compliance SIG Maintainer, reported to various experts on the background of SIG establishment, SIG operation goals and follow-up planning . At present, open source has become the core driving force for the development of the IT industry and has penetrated into various industrial fields. According to the data provided by the Open Source Industry Conference in 2022 , the proportion of open source code in modern applications has increased from 40% to 78%-90% in the past five years , and mixed-source development has become the main mode, with an average of 147 open source codes per application. Components, open source compliance issues have been highly valued by various industries and sectors. As the first desktop operating system root community in China, the openKylin community is both necessary and willing to pay attention to open source compliance and intellectual property protection.
The establishment of the openKylin Compliance SIG has been supported by experts from participating industries and the Hongshan open source community. Professor Liu Yang from Nanyang Technological University, Professor Sun Hailong from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Guo Xue, Deputy Director of Yunda Institute of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Professor Zhou Minghui from Peking University, and Li Guangjie, technical director of Hongshan Open Source Platform, are the SIG Owners.
