On March 10, the second unit member salon hosted by openKylin community was successfully held in Shanghai. Nowadays, China has become an important contributor to the global open source ecology, and the importance of open source has been increasingly highlighted since the inclusion of open source into the national "the 14th Five-Year Plan" from 2021. Nearly 30 representatives from Shanghai and surrounding areas met to share and discuss the trends of open source industry, community governance and operation, and cooperation and construction.

During the meeting, openKylin shared the operation planning, advantageous achievements and latest progress of the community with the participating partners, CETC(THE 32ND RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CHINA ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY GTOUP CORPORATION) shared its practical experience in community co-build as the representative of the director, and ZHAOXIN, Byosoft and Saifang shared their practical experience in community co-build as the representatives of the co-builders. ZHAOXIN, BYOSOFT and Star Five as representatives of co-builders shared their respective specialties and future directions of co-build in the community. Each participant shared and discussed the support of their own companies to open source and how to better build the community.

Yu Jie, Secretary General of openKylin community and member of the Technical Committee, gave a speech for the event and said that the prosperity of the community is a concrete representation of the ecological influence. openKylin's rapid development is also a testament to the gradual promotion of open source culture in China and the gradual attention to open source projects. Currently, all countries in the world have policies to stimulate the development of open source software, and open source, as a new mode of software production and collaboration, is blossoming with its powerful vitality. While the state attaches importance to it, openKylin is willing to explore the future opportunities together with the community partners and work together in collaborative innovation to ensure the security of China's software supply chain.

Ma Fajun , head of openKylin community ecological cooperation, introduced the basic situation of the community, governance model, open source trends and related achievements made by the community to the participating partners. At present, the openKylin area has nearly 170 unit members, which jointly participate in building the innovation ecology of the next-generation operating system. openKylin community grows in response to the trend of open source, and welcomes more partners to join the community to win a new future of the industry.

Jang Shengfen , Deputy Director of ZHAO XIN's Ecological Cooperation Center, shared "ZHAO XIN+openKylin Community Work Outlook". In the pursuit of technical excellence, ZHAO XIN has been actively contributing to open source and has been awarded the special honor of "Technology Contribution Partner of the Year" by the community. In the future, ZHAO XIN will create together with community partners based on ecological adaptation, hardware and software compatibility performance improvement and so on.

Gao Liming , Chief Architect of BYOSOFT, gave a keynote speech on "Synergy and Practice between System Firmware and Operating System". BYOSOFT is a leading firmware supplier and software service provider in the world, and open source can be a useful supplement for rapid product optimization and iteration in the context of accelerating industry development trend.We hope to have more exploration in the openKylin community, based on BIOS and openKylin system in the level of interaction interface standardization, integrated security authentication, integrated performance optimization, national security algorithms, etc., to realize the trial of new technology routes and the ecological creation of innovative products.

Wang Xiaoying , project manager of Saifang, shared "Saifang helps build RISC-V and openKylin ecology". Saifang is the pioneer of RISC-V hardware and software ecology in China, and openKylin, as the top community of desktop operating system in China, continues to invest in RISC-V ecological layout. Currently, openKylin has successfully adapted Saifang VisionFive 2 development board, and we look forward to working with more partners in the community to jointly promote the innovation of RISC-V software and hardware ecology.

openKylin always takes "co-creation" as the core and "open source gathering, creating the future together" as the community concept, gathering industry advantageous partners to jointly promote the development of China's open source industry. The salon is an exclusive gathering among the community members. Representatives from chip, machine, basic software, application software, security software, cloud services, and other unit members had a full exchange and discussion on the future trends of the open source industry and how to achieve more cooperation among partners in the community.
